Saturday and Sunday April 14&15, 2012

A blowdown that was only partially blocking the lower Ridge Trail right at a switch back.   Notice the double blaze which indicates an acute turn in a trail.

March 31 & April 1, 2012

Saturday March 31, 2012

The following pictures are of a Spring meeting ORMS had at the Blue Ridge Center of Environmental Stewardship.

Talking among ourselves.

Talking with some of our guests.

Games and socializing after dinner.

When not volunteering for ORMS I like to volunteer for PATC Trail Patrol.    On Sunday I was able to provide a little bit of help with an extraction of a rock climber who had broken his leg on a climb on Old Rag's Skyline (aka PATC) Wall.    The following pictures and links detail the incident:

After helping with the incident I returned to the summit area to provide outreach and interpretation for Old Rag visitors until just before dark.
