An Old Rag Injury Extracted

On Saturday October 20, 2012 ORMS participated in a response to a hiker who had fallen and injured their back in the lower part of the Old Rag rock scramble.   Below is a short video of Eagle One extracting the patient off of Old Rag near the injury site.   Next week I will be able to post more about my Old Rag activities for that day and weekend.    I will not be on Old Rag again until the first weekend in November.

Early Fall 2012 ORMS

Early Fall 2012.  Just a faint glimmer of fall colors.   Pictures of a couple of flocks of the rare and endangered ORMSers spotted on the mountain.     A wonderful Harvest Moon.  Double click on pictures for higher resolution.

Sat&Sun Sept 15&16, 2012

SAT AND SUN SEPT 15&16, 2012

Pictures for now and text later but temperatures are cooling, some leaves are showing color, the Chute has been altered to hopefully limit backups, American Chestunts continue to hang on to hang on, Old Rag still hosts great sunsets on occasion, and there are still bears you can barely see in the dark.

ADVICE
Be aware that you need to pay a fee or have an annual pass to enter SNP.   There is no parking charge if you can find a space in the NPS SNP Old Rag parking lot but if there  are no spaces available and you need to park in a locals pasture there will be an approximate $10 parking charge in addition to the NPS entrance fee.   On Saturday there were about 50 cars that had to pay for parking on a locals land in addition to the NPS entrance fee.
